A cominciare dal menù, ma non li avevate proprio $50 per pagare un Italiano di settima generazione per farvi correggere le varie “salsiccie” e “fungi”? Vogliamo parlare di crabcake tradotto come “granchio torta”?
E poi i piatti. La carbonara ha panna, prosciutto, piselli e cipolla. Ma davvero? Il resto sono tutti piatti con una montagna di aglio, secchi di salsa e vomitate di formaggio fuso.
Ho cercato di limitare i danni e ho ordinato i rigatoni al forno. Purtroppo c’era poco da fare e facevano schifo. Il resto della tavolata ha preso melanzane alla parmigiana, unta e bisunta in un lago di salsa, con pasta di accompagnamento e fagiolini.
Personale ok. Locale da schiaffi con orribili murales di Firenze.
Poi mi chiedono perché non frequento ristoranti italiani a San Diego…

Located on the Olivenhain side of the Encinitas and Rancho Santa Fe border my family and I have been coming to Firenze Trattoria for many years because we live in RSF and FT always has consistently good food and great service. For this most recent visit I was in town for the Christmas holiday and we chose FT as our final family dinner. Inside is very large with many different seating options and a large bar. It is located in a sleepy shopping center so there is always plenty of easy parking. Our server Bill was fantastic and really added to the meal. All of our dishes arrived shortly after ordering and the portion sizes are generous.

For this most recent visit I started off with the Carpaccio di Manzo and thought it was wonderful. I have been ordering this dish since I was a kid and this version was one of the better ones I have had in a few months. For my entree I chose the Seabass Oreganato and loved it. The Seabass was large and flavorful but the baked bread crumbs on top really made the dish for me and was a unique variant. I would highly recommend both to anyone.

Overall a really nice Italian option in a beautiful part of San Diego and I am already looking forward to my next visit.

This place is awesome! We live right up the street and have never been. On a whim we stopped over on a Saturday night, scored some seats at the bar and had a great date night. The service and food here is excellent. Can't wait to return!

This restaurant was fantastic. the food was absolutely fantastic. This is probably one of the best cannolis I've ever had and the tiramisu definitely in the top five. Definitely recommend the risotto with filet and shrimp the sauce was extremely good. The service was very good also if I could say one thing it should be a tad bit brighter in the restaurant but very nice and romantic

The food was ok. The staff was good they bent over backwards to make everything happen. They were able to accommodate my wish to have veal piccata which isn't on the menu. They catered to my fellow dinner guests crazy requests.

I brought my wife and son here last night to celebrate my wife's birthday and had a phenomenal meal! Jeanette was our waitress and was extremely nice and helped us with explanations and recommendations. Firenze Trattoria is probably my favorite Italian restaurant in San Diego County!

We went there for lunch on a weekday. The patio is so nice, with the fountain. The service was excellent! So friendly. The food is really good, very homemade feeling. Prices are reasonable. This place is a good option for a date or lunch.

Horrible ! If I could give it negative 5 stars I would…Waited 45 minutes for food and it never showed up…they had the audacity to charge me for my martini…I just sat there and had to asked more than once where’s the food…bartender should be fired!
Management should be ashamed…I’m a regular…don’t tell me your other guests are more important…if they were backed up when i arrived I would not have stayed…pathetic
